A general question for my education: When I embed a PNG image in a PDF, does QPDFL convert that image to JPEG or TIFF, or do PDF files natively support PNG images?

Hi Eric!
First you can read in the manual what filetypes are supported. Inside the pdf these filetypes are inserted as own objects - so they have still their own properties. Inside a pdf all content will be saved and compressed in completely different technics: Standard, FlateDecode, DCTDecode, LZWDecode, CCITTFaxDecode or ASCII85Decode. Cheers, Ingo |
