Hi,

I am working with an application that holds user entered text in a SLOB (String Large Object) in Rich Text Format.

Does anyone know how I can get QuickPDF (ActiveX version 5.22) to output RTF text correctly formatted and without the rtf control characters etc?

Thank you in advance.

Charles

Hi!

Are you speaking about pdf-documents with slobs or db-fields in slob-format?
There's no automatic function.
Without the rtf control characters you can't write formatted text 'cause the rtf control characters are for formatting ...
You can extract the text manually and unformatted.

Best regards,
Ingo

Good morning Ingo,

Thank you for responding.
I have a database with slob fields in it. The slobs contain RTF strings which I want to print, in a formatted manner, using QuickPDF.
If there is no way I guess I can look for some ActiveX that converts RTF to PDF and then merge the files using QuickPDF.
Appreciate the assistance.

Cheers - Charles

Hi Charles!

Sure you can change rtf-content to pdf.
But with QuickPDF this means a lot of manually work... Reading the rtf-control-characters... translate them similar pdf-syntax...
Merging the pdf-files you can do with QuickPDF.

Best regards,
Ingo
