is there a way to substitute fonts?
I don't mean the ReplaceFont method to use standard fonts, but to SubstituteFont(FontId, WithFontId)? We get template files from clients which have subsetted fonts already embedded in the them. Obviously we can't guarantee that these will contain the characters we need, so we end up with 2 subsets of the same font. Any ideas how to approach this? Thanks

We have the same situation as discribed. So a feature to combine two subsetted fonts would be nice.

You can embed your own truetype fontfile, you can select and use it.
Have a look inside the online reference and the samples. |

Yes, I know that, do it all the time. This is a case of embedding our own TT font and using it not just for future text but apply it where another embedded font (included in the source pdf) has been used and then delete the original embedded font so we don't end up with multiple embedded subsets of the same font.
