We are looking to render PDFs as TIFF files. QuickPDF is unlikely to have been the source of the PDF. In order to make better dicision about how to render is there a way to query PDF attributes by page for resolution and color depth?

That is a very complex question as there is no answer.
A PDF doesn't have a DPI setting as it mainly a vectorial format and not a bitmap. A PDF doesn't have a colour depth. With the use of PDF colourspaces a PDF can have many different colour depths. A PDF can also have coloured annotations and stamps on top of the image. I assume you have scanned PDF's that you want extract the images from. If so - this might make things a little easier. You should start with the following functions It is impossible to give a 100% correct answer unless your PDF's come from the same system. Andrew.
