I am trying to populate the formfields of a pdf form which was not created by me.

However, QuickPDF doesn't not seem to recognise all the fields on the form. When you open the form in Acrobat all the fields seem to work fine as formfields.

Does anyone know of any reason why QuickPDF would not recognise them as formfields?

Yes, Adobe has two types of forms now, the newer XML-based forms won't work with QuickPDF.

Is the XML data accessible from within QuickPDF?

No, SedTech put some placeholder functions in place for this, but never put any code behind them before they abandoned this product.

Thanks for reply.

Does this mean that the form has been created in a mix of old and new style. I can read many of the formfields, but not all.

Slightly off topic, but does anyone intend to pick up the pieces on QuickPDF? It is such a good product it seems a shame just to let it fester.

Hi!

You can't pick up the pieces. It won't be legal 'cause we're not the owner of the product. We've tried over few years now to get in contact with the authors but no chance. So the only thing we can do in a legal way is to enhance OUR version more and more and offer this version to legal customers of iSED. If it's no more possible to buy the "base product" on the shareIT-site then we should think it over again.

Best regards,
Ingo

BTW: I agree with you - a very good product!

That's a shame. As their obviosuly doing nothing with ti, it would be nice if they would open source it.

Do you have any views on the first part of my post? Is it likely that the form would be created with 2 different types of formfields.
