I am using 5.21 currently. I have found no Unicode problems so far with languages such as Polish. However, will I be able to create and then print documents containing RTL languages such as Urdu? I can get everything displaying correctly in HTML but I have read of such things as 'glyph replacement' which Internet Exploer does (via UniScribe?) and I'm a little confused (being only a native English speaker)

I've just discovered that Unicode is NOT being displayed Cry Is there a later version that supports Unicode? I use the DrawHTML... functions which currently expect a char* for the string.

I know - I'm talking to myself, but hopefully someone will contribute soon LOL
I use the dll version at the moment (with Visual C++). I downloaded the ActiveX version of 5.22 (just so that I could use the ised.dll to generate an MFC class containing all the function declarations). I see that DrawHTMLText expects an LPCTSTR for the text so, if I pass this (rather than a char*) to the dll version of 5.22, will I see Unicode characters in the PDF document?

Hi Colin!

That fact that noone answers doesn't mean that you're talking to yourself. ...Perhaps we don't have an answer for you and so we don't post ;-)

One hour ago i didn't know what urdu is ... I don't think that we'll be able to implement such an enhancement like unicode support will be. The original developers of QP had stopped working on this product few years ago and here are few developers and friends of the library trying to keep it alive with few enhancements from time to time.

Best regards,
Ingo

Hi Ingo
Sorry if you thought I was being  impatient - I realise what the support situation with QuickPDF is.

I notice that Michel asked Marian about this in December but didn't receive another reply.

I assumed that Unicode was supported in some way because there is a function ToPDFUnicode(), but I have no idea what it does.

Best regards
Colin

Hi Colin!

Unfortunately Marian is doing his own thing ...
About ToPDFUnicode... Why not trying? Put in your unicode-string and see what returns? Keep in mind that the function is only useful for few pdf-properties. I think this was the very first (and last) step of the old iSED-team in the unicode-direction...

Best regards,
Ingo

Marian helped me out, and incorporated full unicode support. Like Ingo said, he provides support for money, and I can't fault him for that. Frankly, I think that his rates are "reasonable" so you can try and ask him for support if you need it too.

Cheers!
