Hello!

I want to create a program which puts two A4 pages on to one A3 page.
So far it will be a typical imposition problem, which I want to solve with the following sequence

1.) Merge two A4 pages
2.) Append a third page (= the resulting A3 page)
3.) Capture the first page
4.) DrawCaptured page on last page
5.) Capture the first page
6.) DrawCaptured page on last page
7.) Save final doc

My question: Can anybody definitely tell me that on the printed output of the resulting doc the single pages look 100% identical to the printed original single pages?

With other words: Does a captured and drawn page look identical to the original page?

Does the result of merged pages look identical to the single, non-merged pages?

Can anybody help me?

Does anybody know this error message?

"Die Seitenstrukturdaten des Dokuments enthalten einen ungültigen Knoten."

This error - message appears while opening a PDF in Acrobar Reader 7.
After clicking [OK] I can continue working.

Whom can I send my PDF?

Fritz

Fritz, there is a nice program to see your document structure. Of course it make sense only if you know a little bit of PDF specifications.

The program name ist:  PdfView  http://www.codeproject.com/tools/pdfview.asp - http://www.codeproject.com/tools/pdfview.asp

Best regards, Marian

Fritz, I hope I have solved your problem. Well there is no sourcecode for you but just a small "best practice".

What you are doing:
1. You open 2 documents.
2. Select doc1
3. Merge doc2 into doc1.
4. Select doc1
5. Create a new empty page
6. Capture the page 1 (original from doc1).
7. DrawCapture on the new page (middle of first horz 1/2)
8. Capture the page 1 (original from doc2)
9. DrawCapture on the new page (middle of second horz 1/2)
10. Save newfile
11. Open newfile with Acrobat Reader => Error !!!
End.

What I have done:
1. You open 2 documents.
2. Create new document (newdoc).
3. Merge doc1 into newdoc.
4. Merge doc2 into newdoc.
5. Select newdoc
6. Delete page1 (default doc has by default an empty page)
7. Create a new empty page
8. Capture the page 1 (original from doc1).
9. DrawCapture on the new page (middle of first horz 1/2)
10. Capture the page 1 (original from doc2)
11. DrawCapture on the new page (middle of second horz 1/2)
10. Save newfile
11. Open newfile with Acrobat Reader => On my computer I get no error !!!
End.

Well, it seems that you should not capture pages from your current document. Capture only pages from merged documents only. I have no reason why this error happens but it seems to be your only problem.
