Subject: QP.EmbedFile ... Where is it?

Hi to everybody here!

I've tried the function EmbedFile for the first time now. My code is something like:
QP.Create
QP.Unlock
QP.LoadFromFile
FileDialog
QP.EmbedFile
QP.SaveToFile
QP.Free
In my example i've attached a jpg-file to my selected pdf.
After doing this the pdf was bigger - so i think the jpg is there... anywhere... but where?
How can i extract the jpg again? Where (which menu-item) can i see this attachment? I can't find the jpg with Foxit and Acrobat Reader7...

Perhaps i don't understand this functinality?

Is there somebody out there knowing a bit more about this?

Best regards,
Ingo

Ingo,

Many attachments are prevented from being visible on Reader 7, due to new security restrictions. See this article:

http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/331371.html

You can explicitly allow attachements with a given extension by modifying the registry. The files will then show up in the "Attachments" tab in Reader (I don't know whether Foxit supports attachments).

There shouldn't be any restrictions on a .jpg file, however. Here's a example with a .jpg attachment:

I used this freebie product to attach it:

http://www.coolpdf.com/pdfbundle.html

You will see a little paperclip in the lower left-hand corner of Reader 7, or you can click on the Attachments tab to extract the attachment.

Hi Chicks!

Thanks a lot! Yes... Now i know how it works ;-)
I've installed Foxit as my standard-pdf-reader 'cause it's the fastest... But it seems that the Acrobat Reader offers a bit more.

Best regards,
Ingo

Hi!

If there are others wanna work with EmbedFile:
First i can't read my attachmentnames in the reader - only unreadable signs! QP.Unencrypt and it was okay ;-)

Best regards and Happy Clicking :-))
Ingo
