I have a PDF (generated through other means not completely under my control) that is 566KB on the disk.  But when I try to print this file using the PDF Library, it is sending 73.5MB to the printer and taking 2-4 minutes to print.  Can anyone explain why this might be the case?

If I print the same file with Adobe Acrobat, it only sends 3.68MB to the printer.

Hi,

first: you shouldn't compare the results of a slim line pdf-library with a 100-mb-installation of an adobe product ;-)
Each pdf-page will be rendered as an image and then sent to the printer - so that size will increase should be normal behavior.
In your case i think that additionally the pdf is really malformed regarding the structure.
Anyway here a few threads from this forum regarding your issue:
