In a MFC app I am using GetCanvasDC / LoadFromCanvasDC. I add both text and images to the DC.

If I use option  -1 in LoadFromCanvasDC I get the images and text . If I use any other options I get text but the images do not show up. 

I am using StretchBlt to draw the images to the DC. Does this need to be done another way?
