I have a Pdf Document which after I saved it with quick pdf its broken.

I already checked the pdf. It has no XFA forms nor is it a pdf container.

The only clue I got until now is that the producer of the pdf is Acrobat Distiller 9.5.0 (Windows). Is this tool not supported by quickpdf?

Hi MP!

XFA or not ... it doesn't matter.
If you change a pdf-form made by an actual acrobat tool
with QuickPDF (or any other third party tool!) later the
acrobat tool (even the reader!) doesn't like the form
any more ;-)
Like i've told: It's not a QuickPDF-prob...
Perhaps you want to upload the pdf anywhere so we
can check by our own what's the matter with it...

Cheers, Ingo

Hi,

your description says nothing, to give a base for an answer.

What is your program doing between LoadfFromFile and SaveToFile?

Which version of QPL  and in which form/language are you using it?

Nothing else than calling LoadfFromFile and SaveToFile, that is the thing. Just saving "messes" the pdf alrady up.

Hi MP,

which program tells you the PDF is broken? The Reader or Acrobat himself? In another post Ingo told about the things around Adobe is doing to get work on/with PDFs closer to them.

Are you able to build a PDF so easy as even possible with this Distillerversion, which comes in error by simple reconstruction through QPL? What is to see if you render the PDF with QPL? Brings it all up, what should be there?

LoadFromFile is reading the PDF and fills a lot of internal objects like lists, trees and arrays of part of the PDF. SaveToFile  builds a completely new PDF from the internal desciption. So it is not to easy, to compare before (untouched) and after (saved) PDF.

Questions, questions but no real answer,

Werner

1. The adobe reader tells me the pdf is broken
FoxIt opens the PDF without problems
Pdf X-Change says also the PDF is broken

2. I have no distiller version, I just got a pdf from a customer and when I run it through quick pdf it is "broken".

3. Adobe brings up a white page with the error message the pdf is broken, pdf-xhange some black lines and an error the pdf is broken.

Hi,

I think you should give this PDF to Debenu for analysis.

Hi!

Don't give it to Debenu ...
Please read here:

I've written at the end what you can do...
It's like it is ;-)

Cheers, Ingo

Hi MP,

is it possible to get a nonconfidential PDF (may your consumer build a samplefile)?

I'm rather interested to look inside.

Werner
