Deleting objects can be dangerous and time consuming as objects can be referenced from many other objects and this all needs to be check and validated before deletion can occur.  If an object refers to a missing object then the PDF becomes corrupted.  At the moment we don't have a delete feature in place but is something we are working towards.

What type of objects are you wanting to delete ?

Andrew.

Thank you, it is clear.
Sometimes we need to delete a page numbers or other footer|header elements
and repaginate a document.

Hi!

For things like this you can delete the page,
overpaint header and footer section with white colour
and print new page numbers into header/footer.
A bit complicated and sometimes not errorfree but it works ;-)

As Ingo says, it is possible to use some tricks to hide objects.  The objects are still there but are hidden when rendered.

Are you trying to automate this process ? If not then deleting page numbers could be done in something like Nitro PDF Professional or Foxit Phantom.   Page numbers are normally emebedded in the content stream along with all the other PDF drawing commands and might be difficult to find programatically depending on how they are generated.

Repaginating a PDF file could be asking for trouble depending on how complex the PDF is and might require some even more advanced tools such as Illustrator.

Quick PDF Library can merge pages together for PDF's that are fairly well structured and where the process can be automated.
