Hi Rowan,

Could you tell me if it is possible, after adding a text with DrawText and Save, to avoid the selection of the text when we open the new file with Acrobat ?

Hi Louis!

For this you can use the security options.
Have a look in the online reference at "permission" and then "encryption".

Permissions/Encryption is a good method but it is normally applied to the entire document.
An alternative would be to write the text as an image and insert the image.  The viewer, however, can certainly copy the image but it wouldn't be in text format.

What is the purpose of protecting this text from the rest?

Hi Tom!

I think Louis want to make a really new document:
"...when we open the new file with Acrobat...".

Hi,

We would prefer (that's not a strong need) to create a "clean" document without selection.
Our activity is the drawing approval and we add stamps or texts (also shapes in the future) on the drawings.

If we add the text by means of an image, can we select the image ?

Hi Louis!

Then you can select the image manually.
So i think my suggestion with "Permissions/Encryption" is what you really want.

Cheers, Ingo
