Hi,

I have been using QuickPDFs to merge an invoice with a PDF that was created with Adobe Acrobat, scanning documents.  It works fine with older versions.  If the PDF is scanned with Acrobat 9, after I merge the PDFs, the invoice is fine, but the pages created with Acrobat 9 appear is small, white squares.  FoxIt will display the pages fine.  Acrobat will not read the pages.  QuickPDF generates an access violation.  If I delete the first page - the invoice page - in Acrobat, I get an error dialog:  "Expected a dict object."  I tried to process the PDF with PDF Enhancer and I got the error:  "An error has occurred:  expected a dictionary object."
Some important notes:
  • The original, Acrobat 9 scan can be opened and viewed prior to using QuickPDF's MergeFiles.
  • Both PDFs that are merged have a PDF version of 1.4.
  • FoxIt's PDF reader can read, display, and print the PDF after merging.  It is only Acrobat and QuickPDF that have a problem.

Thanks,

David

Hi David!

I think it's only Acrobat that has a problem ;-)
In some cases Acrobat uses built-in-checks while pdf-creation to prevent a pdf from modifying with third party tools (like we know it already with newest pdf-forms).

Cheers, Ingo

Ingo,

Is there a way to change the settings in Acrobat 9 to prevent problems?

Thanks,

David
