What is the latest version of PDF that Quick PDF Library (PDF Developer Toolkit) can be used with for existing PDF documents?

I have Acrobat 7 on my system, and I am currently using QuickPDF v5.21 with documents I've created using Acrobat 7.  This works perfectly.  However, I am thinking about upgrading to a newer version of Acrobat, probably 9.  I actually have version 8, but have not installed it.  I'm just wondering if I will run into any problems using the library on newer files.

Also, will files created using Adobe Designer work?

Thanks

Hi Khan!

QuickPDF 5.21 is a very old version - the current one is 7.12 and available here (there's still a discount for existing users):

Newer pdf-documents made with Acrobat 8/9 for example can use 128 bit aes encryption what's supported by QuickPDF 7.12 but not with 5.21 ...
So if you want to be compatible for the future you should choose the new version.

Forgot to mention.  I actually did purchase the upgrade to version 7.12 about a month ago, but have not started using it in coding. Tongue

It's good to know that I can use Acrobat 8 & 9 docs.

Thanks.

Don't forget that a new acrobat version will be always faster than a new pdf-sdk-version ;-)    So perhaps not all new features will be supported immediately.

Cheers, Ingo
