Hi im using the function GetTextAscent() to calculate the fonts height. on some computers it works properly and on others it returns 0 for the same code. mostly on 32bit computers with Win XP. it happens with font Ariel Narrow Bold. does any one have an idea why ?

Hi micha,
if it works on one PC and on other not, the task is to find the difference. Do you check the return-value of AddTrueTypeFontFromFile ('Arial Narrow Bold')? Werner |

Arial Narrow Bold will only be on your computer if you've got MS Office. We had that problem recently. I think, however, that it still works when we use 'Arial Narrow [bold]' the only difference is that Arial Narrow is substituted with Arial and our reports look all goofy.
Regardless, you're probably going to want to embed the font, so if you can't embed it and Adobe gives you a warning saying it can't find the font, then you've got something to go off of. |
