After drawing text is there a reliable way to "erase" or otherwise block or blank the text?

Given:
DPL.SetTextColor(0,0,1); //Blue
DPL.DrawText(1,1, 'Test');

//text inserted

Later:
DPL.SetTextColor(1,1,1); //White?
DPL.DrawText(1,1, 'Test');

Result is a faint outline of text- not completely obscured.

Changing the text transparency setting does not influence text
already inserted.

Any ideas?

TIA,

John

Thanks so much.
It looks promising, but, it appears that this method has complications and may not have been tested completely.

I'm going to see if I can simply place a white block over the text, effectively erasing it.

The question then becomes, what happens after each erasure and subsequently adding text.

I'm open for suggestions, but, will report back if I find a simple, workable solution.

I'm casting my vote for a new function, DeleteText(Horizontal,Vertical,Width,Height) or
DeleteText(Horizontal,Vertical,'Original Text').
