You can also use the DAOpenFileReadOnly function instead of DAOpenFile if you wish to open a file in read-only mode so that other applications are not blocked from accessing this file on disk.
If you use DAOpenFileReadonly then you must use DASaveAsFile to re-save the file, as you cannot use DAAppendFile with read-only files.
