I don't know which version of Crystal Reports was used 'cause i've got only the pdf-document and in the meta data there's only "Crystal reports".

Ingo, because I'm frustrated by limitations in Crystal's pdf export (what you bumped into is not the only issue I've seen), I'm considering adding my own export mode to pdf in my Crystal-related software.

I'm considering CutePDF $500 Custom PDF Writer with programmatic access. However, it has a system requirement of: "GNU Ghostscript or other PS2PDF interpreter," which leaves an obvious headache if I want to have a worry-free deployment of my application to user's machines.

Do you have any advice on the matter? Are you aware of any other tool that would be a good choice for programmatic "printing" of a Crystal report to a PDF file?

Hi Ingo,

If this is Crystal XI, I ran into the same issue and the conclusion was that it simply has a bad PDF export. Crystal 8.5, 9, or 10 should be fine.

Ingo, send a sample PDF to me. I have writen a small pdf viewer which I can test against your PDF files. Hi!

I've problems extracting textcontent from a pdf (specs 1.2) made by crystal reports. Although there's a plenty of table data in the doc i can extract only few Characters (only few big letters (AA... E... FF ... and mostly blanks ;-)

Has anybody of you made the same experiences? What can be done?
