Author: juanf
Subject: 3003
Posted: 10 Nov 14 at 5:10AM

Hi,

First off, awesome library.

I need to create 1000-50000 copies of a single PDF within a file, I've been using the ClonePages function, It works great for copies less than a 1000, However as soon as you increase the number it exponentially takes longer to process. During processing, it makes the program completely unresponsive, and I haven't been able to find a way to monitor progress as it locks up the program. I accept it would take longer to produce copies, but i need clonepages to resume events while processing, as impatient users will forcibly close the program thinking the program has crashed.

So here is my question,

1. Would it be possible to make ClonePages resume events while processing?

2. Can ClonePages be made to feedback progress, eg. copy x of 1000? Perhaps a string that is past or a popup window with the progress or similar?

3. should you have to do progress monitoring via file size, a final file size needs to be known in order to determine progress, is there a way calculate this?

4. Do you have a formula that could estimate processing time to create x number of copies, so that this could be displayed to the user before the time?

Thanks and regards

juanf
