Author: Ingo
Subject: 2212
Posted: 06 Apr 12 at 7:45PM

Hi Chris!

It would be good to upload the file anywhere on a free webhosting service so that we're able to test it by our own.
There are two optional passwords for pdf-documents:
One is the main password for a (very) basically protection of the made pdf-settings. This password is nearly unvisible for normal readers of the documents 'cause there's nothing to do.
The other (seldom used) password is the user-password. You need to enter it after loading but before reading the document.
An unknown main password doesn't matter ... you can read the document without problems.
An unknown user password prevent from reading or extracting the content.
A read only modus won't help you reading the file 'cause a pdf-reader has to interpret the content and for this internally objects and structures has to be built in the background and this isn't possible with your one pdf-document.
Please keep in mind that QuickPDF is a small but comprehensive pdf-library with only few mbytes. An adobe reader installation comes along with an over 100 mbytes installation with many dlls so often it's possible to overact some errors in a pdf - for the small QuickPDF sometimes not.

Cheers and welcome here,
Ingo
