Hi Jim!

The document has no color model and no compression type.
The content of the document was written with font "TaxDing, Bold".
This font is embedded and i think while creating the document (embedding) an error raised.
QuickPDF search the content and look for the matching standard- or embedded font. QuickPDF see that the embedded font "TaxDing, Bold" is the matching font and want to use it for decoding... with no success.

My app tells me that there's an error while reading the stream. LoadFromFile is still okay but preview and textextraction won't work.

You're right... Foxit and Adobe Reader can show the document but see what Adobe Reader is telling you while opening the document: "The embedded font TaxDing, Bold couldn't be used - so some characters won't be displayed well"! The Adobe Reader has a 100-mb-installation with many, many dlls - so the reader can manage this faulty document with some similar replacements fonts but the small QuickPDF can't offer this.
BTW: The small "SumatraPDF" tells me "error while opening the file" ;-)
Perhaps you should send this file directly to Debenu, too.

Sent file to your email.  LastErrorCode returns: 409 Invalid file structure, file is damaged. 
But other readers can display it.

You can upload the file on any freespace provider and post the link here.
Or you can send the file directly to me at ingo  -dot-  schmoekel  -at-  ewetel  -dot-  net.
I think QuickPDF would show the document, too.
Show means rendering ... extracting is a little bit different.
I'll check the file ... then we'll know why.

I'm using ver 7.15 and can't get the text from a PDF.  It was created with ISS PDF Writer Engine Version 1.0b.  It displays in AReader & Foxit, but fails to load using the loadfromfile- return = 0.
 
Any way to attach files?
 
Any help would be appreciated.  I can't control the producer but need to read the pdf text.
